Called CellTrap, the technology can track individual cell interactions for up to 14 hours, helping researchers better understand how immunotherapies work. Scientists say the affordable system could support the development of more targeted and effective cancer treatments.

The microfluidic chip contains 1,024 tiny chambers that bring immune and cancer cells together and record their behaviour at the single-cell level. Early experiments showed that several immune cells attacking one cancer cell often produced stronger responses. Researchers believe the platform could speed up comparisons of treatment strategies and broaden understanding of immune processes beyond cancer.
