The European Union (EU) adopted the AI Act last year, which is being implemented gradually, and Brussels now wants to give the sector until the end of 2027, instead of August 2026, to comply with obligations relating to high-risk AI.
On November 11, the Vice-President of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, Henna Virkkunen, in a meeting with journalists in Lisbon, left the door open for flexibility.
