It is closely conjunct Pluto, the planet of depth, transformation, and radical change. On the opposite side of the sky, the Sun in Leo is tightly conjunct Jupiter, making the potential for change ten times greater.

At the same time, the spiritual planets Uranus and Neptune are dancing in a harmonious celestial song with the Full Moon’s energy, signalling a time of spiritual awakening, as well as tremendous events that can change the course of both our personal and collective lives.

The spiritual symbol of this Full Moon is “A child born out of an eggshell”. The image that I chose to represent this Moon phase comes from Dalí’s painting Aurora. It is a surrealist work that depicts a sunrise emerging from a cracking egg, symbolising birth and awakening.

Full Moons are culminations. They are a time when the flowers are in bloom and what was once a seed has now become an embodied vision. Aquarius is the sign of innovation, of “cutting through the crap,” and of revealing new ways of moving forward. Something that was once just a weird idea is now fully visible.

In which part of your life have you had the courage to break the shell and move in an original way? Now is the moment when what you have worked for has taken a solid shape and is ready to be seen and implemented. Maybe it is about your personal image, your finances, or your career.

Recognise the rewards of this new emergence, and do not be afraid to try innovative ways of doing things.

What to embrace and what to release during this Aquarius Full Moon?

Embrace:

- Community work

- Social work

- Innovative ideas

- Original ways of approaching problems

- Gathering like-minded people

Release:

- Self-doubt

- Depending on other people’s validation

- Fear of trying new approaches

The Celestial Energies of August

August is a Big month astrologically. A Total Moon Eclipse in Leo on 12 August and a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo at the end of the month.

August opens with an energising Sun–Jupiter boost, inspiring bold confidence. The Leo eclipse brings major new beginnings tied to intentions started on 17 February. Later in the month, the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces invites rest and appreciation of life’s simple joys.

The month ends with a supportive Jupiter–Saturn trine, perfect for financial planning and long-term goals.

The Sign of the Month - Leo (23 July - 22 August)

I am not bossy; I am the boss.

Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac. It rules the heart in the human body, and in the astrological chart, the part of the sky associated with creativity, children, romance, and fun.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, our life force. People born under this sign exude, at their best, a quiet confidence. A Leo person is often seen as a natural leader, someone who leads their life from the passion in their heart. The downsides of Leo can be arrogance, egotism, and a desire to be the centre of attention.

Leo is a Fire sign. People born in August have a strong need to find an outlet for their creativity and inspiration, and to be recognised for what is truly in their heart, rather than for their external appearance.

Astronomy corner: August Special Sky Events

August is an amazing month for sky gazing. On 12 August, a Total Solar Eclipse takes place, crossing Greenland, Iceland, northern Spain, and parts of Portugal. It will be the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe since 1999.

On 15 August, Venus reaches its greatest eastern elongation, making it one of the best times to observe the planet after sunset.

On 28 August, a Partial Lunar Eclipse occurs. It will be visible from many parts of Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
