According to a statement from the Palmela City Council, Visteon's new production facility, housed in a two-story building, strengthens the company's capacity in manufacturing automotive electronics.

Visteon's vice president, João Paulo Ribeiro, quoted in the city council's press release, states that the new building, inaugurated last week, "is a technological lever" that "will allow the company to enter the electrification zone more quickly, with in-house production."

João Paulo Ribeiro also believes that this €10 million investment "will allow Visteon to continue investing in Palmela and, at the same time, create jobs."

According to a union source, Visteon Palmela currently has around 1,200 employees, to which 150 new employees will be added, who will work in the new facility over the next two years.

The Palmela factory is one of the production units of the multinational Visteon, which operates in dozens of countries.
