The event will happen at Praia da Fonte, and dozens of athletes are expected to perform in various categories, in the competition that leads athletes to combine canoeing as fast as possible, but also running on the sand.
"It is a fast and visually appealing event format, perfect for the public. We invite the entire Figueira da Foz community and water sports enthusiasts to come support the athletes and enjoy a great day of sports," the organizers highlighted in a statement sent to the Lusa news agency.
The race begins with a 30-metre run on a beach, starting from a starting gate, until the waterline. Then, the athletes will embark on a quick round-trip to a buoy, returning to the beach and running until the finish line.
The event features individual races in the Nelo 510 Lifesaving and SUP Lifesaving categories, as well as a 400-metre relay team race.
The organizers highlight the 400-meter relay race, which has a "strong inclusive character," as participating teams must include at least one female member and be comprised of athletes from at least three different age groups.
