The strike will take place from 5:00am until 10:00am for operations workers, from 7:00am until 12:00pm for office workers, from 7:30am until 12:30pm for fixed and administrative workers, and from 2:00am until 7:00am for night and track workers, the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (Fectrans) announced in a statement.
For the union, either the Lisbon Metro's management or board of directors needs to "decide to open dialogue, with concrete proposals in good time before the strike begins," or the unions "will comply with the will expressed in the plenary sessions to intensify the struggle."
Fectrans also expressed "complete willingness" to be at the negotiating table representing the workers.
"This is a time for unity, and today, as in the past, it will be the workers' determination that will lead to the success of this just struggle that belongs to everyone and is for everyone," the Fectrans statement said.
The Lisbon Metro operates four lines daily: Yellow (Rato-Odivelas), Green (Telheiras-Cais do Sodré), Blue (Reboleira-Santa Apolónia), and Red (Airport-São Sebastião).
The metro normally operates between 6:30am and 1:00am.
Essential public services for the working people and the population at large on illegal strike! Meanwhile, the PM takes time off! That's Portugal where only the rich and touristic industry have rights!
