Diesel prices will rise 0.5 cents and petrol prices will fall 0.5 cents between Monday and Sunday next week, according to forecasts from the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP).
If these estimates are confirmed, the average price of regular diesel should rise to €1.550 per litre and the average price of regular 95% petrol should fall to €1.693 per litre, the ACP reports, explaining that the forecasts are based on the continuation of the extraordinary tax reduction measures implemented by the government to mitigate price increases, namely the reduction of the Tax on Petroleum Products (ISP) and the offsetting of additional VAT revenue.
The average price of a litre of diesel in Portugal this Friday was €1.545, while the average price of a litre of petrol totalled €1.698, according to the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG). On Tuesday, the average prices at the pump were €1.544 and €1.697, respectively.
