In a statement, Transportes Metropolitanos do Porto (TMP) says that the following lines will begin operating: line 2046, a fast connection via highway between Santa Maria da Feira (commercial area) and Boavista (Casa da Música); line 2059, between Aveiro (University) and Santa Maria da Feira (commercial area); and line 3534, connecting Vila do Conde/Maia via Castelo, and line 5023, a fast line via Leça do Balio between Matosinhos and Maia (forum).

Also, lines 8042, connecting Gondomar (Souto) and Parque Nascente via the highway and S. Roque, 9088, the express line between the Lourosa/Fiães Interchange and the University Campus (via Carvalhos), and 9511, connecting Espinho (Vouga Station) which will now have a direct and fast connection to Boavista (Casa da Música), will begin operating in early 2026.

“With the entry into operation of these new lines, the Unir network reinforces the public transport offer, promoting more efficient, comfortable and sustainable journeys throughout the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Region,” adds TMP.

In the Unir network, in the North East zone (Santo Tirso/Valongo/Paredes/Gondomar) Nex Continental operates; in the North West zone (Póvoa de Varzim/Vila do Conde) Porto Mobilidade, in the North Central zone (Maia/Matosinhos/Trofa) Vianorbus, in the South West zone (Vila Nova de Gaia and Espinho) Transportes Beira Douro and in the South East zone (Santa Maria da Feira/São João da Madeira/Arouca/Oliveira de Azeméis/Vale de Cambra) Xerbus.
