A spokesperson for Edinburgh Airport confirmed the "incident" but denied claims that the collision caused a fire. They also said that the situation had "no impact" on airport operations.
The flight was supposed to arrive at Gago Coutinho Airport in southern Portugal at 12:00pm, according to information available on the Avionio website.
Ryanair told The Portugal News: “This flight from Edinburgh to Faro (22 Dec) was preparing for departure when the wing tip came in contact with the cab of a fuel truck. Passengers disembarked normally and a replacement aircraft was arranged to operate this flight to Faro.”
