Diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal, should fall by 2.5 cents, and petrol should be two cents cheaper, according to data from ACP. These drops help mitigate the impact of the change in fuel taxation.

When you fill up, you should expect to pay around €1.554 per litre of regular diesel and €1.68 per litre of regular 95 petrol, taking into account the average prices at the pumps on Monday, as released by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG).

Next week will be the third week of price drops for diesel, and the fourth for petrol.

This week, diesel fell 2.5 cents and petrol 0.9 cents, drops slightly different from those expected by the market, which pointed to a decrease of 2.8 cents for diesel and half a cent for petrol, in the week in which there was a change in fuel taxation with the reduction of the discount on the Tax on Petroleum Products (ISP), taking advantage of the anticipated sharper drop in fuel prices.
