The top of the list is occupied by 17-year-old Spanish player Lamine Yamal, who reached a market value of €200 million in 2025.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated world football over the last two decades, racking up individual awards and historic records. Despite this, according to Transfermarkt, neither of them currently tops the list of the most valuable footballers of all time. Leading the way is Lamine Yamal, a young Spaniard aged just 17, who reached a market value of 200 million euros in 2025, playing for Barcelona.
Following Lamine Yamal is Kylian Mbappé, who reached the highest value in 2018 (€200 million) and third on the podium, with the same value, is Vinícius Junior.
Lionel Messi occupies seventh place in the ranking, having reached his maximum value at the age of 30 in 2017, worth €180 million.
Cristiano Ronaldo, despite being a benchmark in football, occupies 30th place, having reached his maximum market value in 2014, worth €120 million. However, his transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009/2010 is still remembered as the most expensive of the era (€94 million).
