"Regarding the family allowance, the €27.6 million increase in 2026, compared to 2025, is due to the increase in values in line with inflation, uniform for all household income brackets and the age of the descendant/holder," reads the report on the 2026 State Budget proposal, released by the Government.
This means that the update will be uniform for all income brackets and dependent ages, ensuring that all families will benefit from the same proportional increase.
It is important to note that the "amount and duration are variable, depending on the age of the child or young person and the household composition and income."
"If the child or young person's family income is within the 1st income bracket, they may be entitled to receive the Child Guarantee," Social Security also explains.
