The first weekly seasonal vaccination report indicates that 182,222 people were vaccinated against flu, of which 100,240 were vaccinated in pharmacies and 81,935 in the National Health Service (SNS).

In the first week of the seasonal vaccination campaign, 105,264 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, more than half (58,169) in pharmacies and the remaining 47,095 in the SUS.

Under the motto "Get vaccinated and protect the most important moments," the seasonal campaign, which began on September 23rd, features a new feature this year: free flu vaccination for all children between 6 and 23 months and a subsidized vaccination for those between 2 and 5 years old.

The Secretariat recommends flu and COVID-19 vaccination for everyone over 60, chronically ill people of all ages, and healthcare professionals, emphasizing the importance of immunization against these viruses.

People between 60 and 84 years old can get vaccinated at health centers or pharmacies. As in the previous campaign, those over 85, who are at greater risk of developing severe flu, will have access to "a booster dose vaccine that provides extra protection."

According to the data collected, as of September 28, 26,625 people aged 85 and over had been vaccinated against the flu, a vaccination coverage rate of 7.97%, the highest of all age groups. In the same age group, 18,721 people (5.61%) received the COVID-19 vaccine.

The total number of people aged 60 and over vaccinated against the flu in the first week reached 160,390 (5.34%), with 97,433 (3.24%) receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

The age group with the lowest influenza vaccination coverage rate in the first week is 60-69 years old, with 3.61% (46,898 people vaccinated), the same occurring with the COVID-19 vaccine, administered to 2% (25,959) of this population.

The 2025-2026 Fall-Winter Seasonal Vaccination Campaign runs until April 30, 2026, at SUS health units and 2,500 community pharmacies. The Secretariat's goal is to vaccinate approximately 2.5 million people against the flu and 1.5 million against COVID-19 by Christmas.

The latest bulletin for the 2024-2025 seasonal vaccination campaign indicates that more than 2.4 million (2,405,201) people have received the flu vaccine and nearly 1.6 million (1,569,092) the COVID-19 vaccine.
