France is set to introduce a ban on all products for oral use containing nicotine, starting in March 2026, such as pouches, balls and gum.

The decision, following earlier bans on disposable e-cigarettes and smoking in public places, reinforces the government’s commitment to curbing addiction risks among children and adolescents.
According to Global Markets Insights, the pouch market was valued at €5.6 billion in 2023, with estimates reaching €23.4 billion in 2032.

Government restrictions on the use of any product, good or bad, seems hypocritical. In the quest to vilify smoking, they completely gloss over the over consumption of alcohol. When you try and restrict usage, all you do is create an underground illegal network.
Education is the way you change bad behaviors. Fix that first.
