This is the fifth round of the F2 Powerboat World Championship, following stops in Brindisi (Italy), Klaipeda (Lithuania), San Nazzaro (Italy), and Peso da Régua (Portugal).

The standings are currently led by Swede Hilmer Wiberg (39 points), followed by his compatriot Mathilda Wiberg (34 points) and French driver Peter Morin (32 points).

Duarte Benavente, the only Portuguese driver competing and the 2020 world champion in this category and runner-up in 2021, occupies 13th place in the overall standings.

In a statement sent to Lusa news agency, the municipality of Vila Velha de Ródão reported that the fifth stage of the F2 Powerboat World Championship begins on Friday, with the teams arriving at the Vila Velha de Ródão pier, where technical and administrative checks are being conducted.

On Saturday, starting at 11:15 am, free practice sessions will take place, allowing drivers to familiarise themselves with the circuit.

In the afternoon, between 3 pm and 5 pm, qualifying sessions for the final will take place.

Sunday morning is dedicated to warm-up sessions, which will take place between 9:15 am and 11:00 am. The repechage race will follow at 11:30 am.

The Vila Velha de Ródão Grand Prix takes place in the afternoon, following the formation lap, scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

The race, organized by the Portuguese Motorboat Federation and under the auspices of the International Motorboat Union (UIM), features approximately 20 riders of various nationalities.
