Launched in September 2024, the Carris Metropolitana app currently has over 230,000 users and has brought passengers new search features and the ability to add lines to favourites.
Among the new features, smart notifications stand out. This new feature allows the app to notify passengers whenever the bus is near their selected stop. This feature allows for a more relaxed wait, without having to track the bus on a real-time map. To receive the notification, passengers must select the distance from the stop they want to receive it, as well as the desired time and date.
“To access the new version of the app, simply update it on your mobile device. To ensure the tool works properly, it's important to ensure the app has been given permission to send notifications through your device's settings,” explained a company statement.
The app update also includes the option to customise the home page with quick access to the most frequently used lines and stops. This personalised profile option, which also allows you to create a unique avatar, improves the app's navigation and usability.
