"Mercadona will open in Vale Sepal, Leiria, at Avenida Francisco Rodrigues Lobo, No. 132, on September 11th. This new opening represents an important step in strengthening Mercadona's presence in the municipality, bringing it even closer to its 'Bosses' (customers)," the Spanish supermarket chain announced.

The company revealed that "this new supermarket will generate approximately 90 new, stable, high-quality jobs, with permanent contracts from day one, thus contributing to the creation of local jobs."

"The opening of this new supermarket, which will be Mercadona's second in the municipality and its third in the Leiria district, reflects the continuity of the company's national expansion plan".

In a statement released this week, Mercadona also announced that it will open in São Gens, Matosinhos, on October 9th at 9 a.m., at 3867 Rua de São Gens, in Matosinhos.

"This new supermarket will generate approximately 65 new, stable, high-quality jobs, with permanent contracts from day one, thus contributing to local employment creation," the statement reads.

The Spanish company will open its first supermarkets in Lisbon in November, located in Alta de Lisboa and Quinta do Lambert (Lumiar). The Frielas supermarket, in Loures, also in the Lisbon district, will open in October.
