"The Lusíadas Maia Hospital is the result of an ambitious project that reflects our expansion and proximity strategy, to meet the clinical needs of the population of Maia and neighbouring municipalities. At the same time, it contributes to reducing regional asymmetries in access to healthcare," emphasized Vasco Antunes Pereira, CEO of the Lusíadas Saúde Group, quoted in a statement.

"With this sixth unit in the North region, we reinforce our commitment to being ever closer to people, with cutting-edge technology and a highly qualified and dedicated team," according to a report by ECO.

Located in the Mira Maia Shopping Mall, this hospital unit, with over 3,000 square meters, will offer approximately 30 medical and surgical specialties, 32 consulting rooms, and two operating rooms. It also offers a complete clinical and imaging service, including Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, X-rays, and Mammography, as well as six additional rooms for examinations in various specialties.

Founded in 1998, Lusíadas Saúde currently has 15 healthcare facilities across the country, including nine hospitals (Braga, Porto, Paços de Ferreira, Maia, Santa Maria da Feira, Lisbon, Amadora, Alfragide, Albufeira, and Vilamoura), five clinics (Gaia, Entrecampos, Oriente, Almada, and Faro), a sports medical centre, Lusíadas Sport, and 31 HeyDoc dental clinics.

In July, Vivalto Santé, which acquired the Lusíadas Saúde Group about a year and a half ago, announced its plans to implement the co-governance model known as "Third Way" in Portugal. This model allows doctors and dentists to become shareholders of the Lusíadas Saúde Group through a private offering of shares.
