The new letters are made of aluminium, have yellow acrylic fronts, and internal LED lighting with a front light, ensuring visibility both day and night. Measuring 16.20 meters long and 2.90 meters high, this structure was designed to maximize durability, energy efficiency, and traffic safety, including dimmers to prevent glare.

"We want those arriving in the Algarve to feel truly welcome," emphasised André Gomes, president of Algarve Tourism, adding that this renovation of the sign on the A2 is a symbolic gesture, "but of great importance, as it improves the image of the region's entrance, reinforces the destination's identity, and is part of a broader set of initiatives we are developing to improve the welcome we give to our visitors."

The intervention in Paderne complements other promotional initiatives for the destination, such as the recent giant panel installed in the arrivals area of Faro Airport. Measuring 99 meters wide, this display showcases the Algarve's main tourism products and serves as a powerful welcome message to the nearly 10 million passengers who pass through the airport annually.

The next intervention will be the renovation of the portico located on the Guadiana Bridge, which serves as a symbolic gateway to the region for those arriving from Spain.
