In a statement, IPMA reported that the districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco will be under yellow warning until 6pm today due to snowfall above 1,000 to 1,200 metres (m), with accumulation of up to five centimetres (cm), which could be up to 10cm at the highest points.

In the districts of Vila Real, Viana do Castelo and Braga, the yellow warning is active until 3 pm due to the possibility of snowfall above 800/1,000m, with accumulations of up to five centimetres at the highest points.

According to IPMA, snowfall and possible ice formation in these areas may cause disruptions, such as conditioned or closed roads and damage to structures or trees.

Snowfall in the central massif of Serra da Estrela led today to the closure of several sections of the National Road (EN) 339, between Piornos (Covilhã) and Portela do Arão (Seia).

In addition to the snowfall in the highlands of the North and Center interior, the IPMA predicts showers on the continent today, which may be hail and accompanied by thunder, strong winds and strong winds.

Minimum temperatures will vary between 1º (Guarda) and 10º (Faro and Sagres) and maximum temperatures between 7º (Guarda) and 18º (Faro).
