In 2024, the EU reported that 25.2% of energy consumption came from renewable sources, up 0.7% from 2023. However, the recorded value remains below the target set for 2030.

According to Eurostat, Sweden is the country that uses the most renewable energy (62.8%), followed by Finland and Denmark.

Portugal is still included in the top 10, occupying the seventh position, far from the European average but even further from the target of 42.5%.
